DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating the deaths of two people at an extended stay motel in DeKalb County.
Officers responded to a shooting call at the Efficiency Lodge off Flat Shoals Road on Tuesday morning.
Detectives at the scene told Channel 2′s Steve Gehlbach that police found a woman dead inside one of the motel rooms. A man was also shot and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.
The victims’ names have not been released. Police at the scene told Gehlbach they are investigating their deaths as a homicide.

A neighbor and friend of the woman killed said she had just left her room and was around the corner at the front of the motel when she heard the shots.
“If I had went back, she wouldn’t have been dead now... I’d have been there,” her friend said.

Detectives spoke with loved ones of both victims and interviewed many witnesses, some who were inside the room at the time of the shooting.
Those who knew the woman said she was sweet and did not have a problem with anyone.
Police have not released any description of suspects.
