COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has approved an expansion of the county’s CobbLinc Go microtransit program.
The decision will expand transit service to more than 100,000 additional residents.

Under the approved plan, the county will add six square miles to the existing South Cobb microtransit service zone.
The expansion also establishes a new 31-square-mile pilot program serving the Acworth and Kennesaw area.

Cobb County Commission Chairwoman Lisa Cupid spoke in support of the measure, describing the expansion as a positive development for the county and its residents who need transit access.
The program expansion drew opposition from critics who argued that the microtransit initiative is not worth the cost.
