2 hurt in metro Atlanta house fire

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Two people sustained minor injuries and five were displaced after a house fire late Friday, Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services Tim Sweat said.

Fire crews were dispatched to Mandy Court at 11:16 p.m. to find the home fully involved with fire.

Firefighters immediately took a defensive posture and got the fire under control in less than an hour.

Those inside the home were able to safely leave the home, though they encountered extreme heat.

Twenty-three fire personnel responded to the scene and used a variety of tools to fight the fire, including aerial apparatus.

Despite the severity of the fire, no firefighters were hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.
