Atlanta Fire Rescue Department said crews responded to the 2600 block of Old Hapeville Road SW for a working fire at a two-story, wood-frame apartment building.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire on the second floor and in the attic of an end unit. Crews initially searched the apartments and attacked the fire while other firefighters protected adjoining units.
As conditions worsened in the attic, firefighters were pulled out and switched to a defensive attack, using an aerial master stream.
Residents were evacuated, and searches of the affected and adjoining apartments were reported all clear.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause is still under investigation.
