BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man was killed after Georgia deputies say he lost control of his SUV and crashed into the roof of a home.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 1900 block of Woodland Drive.
Officials said Willie H. Smith Jr., 78, was driving a white Chevrolet Equinox east on Waverland Drive near the intersection with Woodland Drive when he appears to have lost control.
The SUV hit the rooftop of a residence.
Video from the scene shows crews working to remove the Chevrolet Equinox from the roof of the home.

Paramedics treated Smith at the scene before taking him to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced dead, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
No other injuries have been reported.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
