BLECKLEY COUNTY, Ga. — A man is facing multiple charges after deputies say money stolen from an Atlanta attorney was used to purchase vehicles from a dealership.

Bleckley County deputies responded Wednesday to a car dealership. They received a report of suspected fraud involving the purchase of two vehicles using bogus funds.
While deputies and investigators were working the case, authorities said they were contacted by a criminal defense attorney in Atlanta who reported that about $19,000 had been fraudulently withdrawn from his bank account and used to purchase the vehicle.
Investigators later found one of the vehicles and arrested Malcolm Jamal Chambers.
Chambers is charged with deposit account fraud and theft by deception.

Authorities said more charges stemmed from what deputies discovered during the arrest.
Authorities say Chambers was found in possession of a gun with an altered or obliterated serial number. Because he is a convicted felon, he also faces firearm-related charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Investigators say they are continuing to gather evidence related to the suspected involvement of an inmate currently housed at Augusta State Medical Prison.
Authorities said additional arrests and charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
