DeKalb student says school resource officer knocked her unconscious

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A DeKalb County school resource officer has been placed on paid administrative leave following allegations that he used excessive force on students.

A student at the DeKalb Alternative School says the school resource officer slammed her on her head so hard that she was knocked unconscious.

The DeKalb County School District says the officer, who is not being identified because he has not been charged, is currently on administrative leave as they investigate the March 13 incident.

Sources close to the investigation told Channel 2′s Michael Seiden that there was an incident two days before this one that was never reported.

They say the same resource officer was seen punching a student at the school on March 11. It’s unclear if the incident was ever reported to administrators.
