ATLANTA — An investigation is underway after a person was shot Tuesday evening.

Atlanta police are responding to a shooting near the 600 block of University Avenue SW.
When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old girl with an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
According to APD, the victim is alert, conscious, and breathing. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Her identity has not yet been released.
Authorities said a fight at the location escalated to a shooting.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
