She will never get to see the baby after she and her 4-year-old son were killed when their home caught fire.

Angel Albright says her family is having a difficult time trying to process their loss, especially her 3-year-old son.

“He keeps asking me about my little brother and he doesn’t understand like you not gonna get to talk to him no more,” Albright said.

That’s after 4-year-old Rasul and his mother, 47-year-old mother, Mary Mashburn, died in a massive fire at their home on Waters road in Southwest Atlanta Wednesday around 8 p.m.

Albright’s 7-year-old brother, Camden, managed to jump out of a window with the help of two good Samaritans.

“So, they were able to work together to get him out the window,” she said.

Camden says his 4-year-old brother, Rasul, was too frightened to jump out. “He didn’t want to jump and he was afraid. And he ran back to be with my mom,” Albright says Camden told her.

Firefighters are trying to determine what caused the fire.

Albright says her mother’s boyfriend made it out. She can’t understand why her loved ones didn’t.

Albright says Camden told her he was asleep when the fire started, “and he woke up and it was fire.”

She says she suffered this loss at time she was overjoyed about a bundle of joy she is carrying.

Albright had just told her mother the day before she died she was pregnant. Her mother was excited and looking forward to seeing her new grandchild.

Now that won’t happen.

Albright is concerned about her young brother realizing he survived and his brother and mother didn’t. “I don’t even know how to comfort him to be like, are you okay. Cause I can’t even comfort myself.”

Both Camden and Rasul attended nearby Cleveland Elementary.

There is a GoFundMe account set up to help the family with funeral expenses.
