ROME, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it is investigating an officer-involved shooting Friday following a request by the Rome Police Department.
They said the investigation is active and ongoing. No details were provided on who fired or any injuries.

Rome police earlier said they were investigating shots fired during a traffic stop.

According to Rome City Schools, Anna K. Davie Elementary was placed on a Code Yellow precautionary lockdown for a short time due to the incident in the vicinity.
School officials say all students and staff are safe.
The Code Yellow has been lifted, and the school is now in a Code Orange, which is an all-clear status.
