ATLANTA — It's time to pull out your umbrella because Wednesday began a long stretch of rainy days.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said a very wet weather pattern kicks off Thursday through early next week. Burns says to expect 4 to 6 inches of rain over the next seven days.
We'll be showing you the areas that could see the most rain over the next few days, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning, starting at 4:30 a.m.
Temperatures reached the 80s under a mostly cloudy sky Wednesday, and most of the rain was confined to the north Georgia mountains and lasted until 7 p.m.
There is a small chance of rain Thursday morning, but we’ll see scattered showers and storms through Thursday afternoon.

"It's not a total washout," Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said. "It's not going to rain all the time."
Monahan said the heavier rain will arrive as we head into the weekend. It is a good opportunity for much-needed widespread rain.
Rain chances reach 90% Saturday and Sunday.
