CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — Two men have been sentenced to prison for trafficking four girls in 2019.
Prosecutors say four girls ran away from a children’s residential facility in Bowdon in March 2019. That’s when they ran into Jeffery Cook, now 57.
Cook offered to drive the girls to one of their sister’s home in Atlanta. Instead, he took the girls to his home in Bowdon.

Two of the girls were forced to perform sexual acts for money.
Last month, a Carroll County jury convicted Cook of two counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, enticing a child for indecent purposes, two counts of pandering and pimping.
A second defendant, 35-year-old Clifford Pruett, was set to stand trial alongside Cook, but after hearing opening statements, Pruett pleaded guilty.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, pandering, pimping, child molestation, statutory rape and more.
Pruett was sentenced to life with the first 15 to serve without parole. Cook has not yet been sentenced.
