Conyers police said Amilyah Higgins walked away from her Milstead Road apartment on Dec. 11 and hasn’t been seen since.
“Anything could happen,” Jacqueline Higgins told Channel 2’s Audrey Washington through tears on Tuesday.
“I’m very afraid. She doesn’t need to be out there alone,” Higgins explained.
Higgins said her daughter has no friends and no cellphone, so it’s difficult to track the teenager’s steps.

Higgins said her daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia and hears voices. She says her daughter is not in the right mental state to be on her own.
“She doesn’t have that mind frame,” Higgins said.
Conyers police put out a missing person flyer. Just a few days ago, the family said they got a tip someone spotted the 15-year-old not too far away.
“It was a restaurant in Covington,” Higgins said.
While Higgins follows that tip, she prays for the best.
“Every day, every night, I burn my candles wishing, hoping she returns,” said Higgins.
Next, the family plans to canvass the Covington area.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Amilyah Higgins is asked to call Conyers police at 770-483-6600.
