ATLANTA — We saw a brief break in the rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, but more rain is expected to move through overnight, also bringing the possibility of a wintry mix in parts of the north Georgia mountains.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of north Georgia and several school districts have announced they will be closed Thursday.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Another 1-2 inches of rain possible Wednesday night in metro Atlanta.
- Up to 2 inches of snow possible in parts of the north Georgia mountains Thursday.
- A winter weather advisory has been issued for Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties starting from 5 a.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday. Rabun and Habersham have also been added to the advisory.
- Temps will fall back into the 30s
- Slippery roads are possible in north Georgia.
