WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. — President Donald Trump will be in north Georgia on Friday for a rally ahead of the midterm elections.
Trump is scheduled to speak at Dalton Municipal Airport in Whitfield County this afternoon. The president will appear with Republican nominee for Georgia governor Rick Jackson and U.S. Senate Republican nominee Mike Collins.
While the president rallies in Dalton, the Democratic Party of Georgia plans to hold a news conference in Atlanta.
We will have live coverage of President Trump’s visit and response from the Democrats, throughout the day on Channel 2 Action News.
Jackson faces former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in the Georgia governor’s race. Collins is challenging U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff for his seat.
The Dalton rally will be the first time that Jackson and Collins have appeared together at the same event. Bottoms and Ossoff held a joint rally in September and have another scheduled for Saturday evening in Cobb County.
