Meet Poseidon: Winder’s newest K-9 trained in narcotic detection

WINDER, Ga. — The Winder Police Department has a new four-legged member joining its ranks.

The department recently introduced Poseidon, also known as “Si,” a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois trained in narcotics detection and tracking.

Poseidon is partnered with Cpl. Stephen Smallwood, according to the department.

Winder police shared photos of the newest K-9 on social media, welcoming Poseidon to the department and giving the community a chance to meet the newest member of the team.

Poseidon’s tracking and narcotics-detection training will add another resource for officers as the department continues its work in Winder.
