MARTA increases long-term parking fees, shortens free parking hours at paid lots

ATLANTA — If you use MARTA’s paid parking lots, get ready to pay more starting next month.

MARTA announced Thursday that it is increasing its long-term parking rates by $2 a day. It will also reduce the free parking period in the paid lots and garages from 24 hours to 14 hours.

The changes go into effect on Sept. 14 at all paid long-term parking facilities across MARTA, but will not impact existing free daily parking locations. Here’s the list of stations and the new cost to park.

Stations increasing to $10 per day (after 14 hours):

  • College Park
  • Doraville
  • Lindbergh
  • North Springs

Stations increasing to $7 per day (after 14 hours):

  • Dunwoody
  • Kensington
  • Lenox
  • Medical Center
  • Sandy Springs

MARTA says the fee changes will help recover the costs of system-wide automated parking facility upgrades completed since 2024. Those include new gates, payment kiosks, call boxes, license-plate readers and improved lighting.

Officials expect the new rates to generate an estimated $500,000 in additional annual operating revenue.
