ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Conyers police say a dump truck ran a red light and overturned Thursday, spilling 18 tons of gravel on a busy road.
Police say three vehicles were involved in the crash. One woman who was a passenger in one of the cars was life-flighted from the scene. Two other people had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
West Ave. at I-20 is shut down as crews clean up the northbound lanes. One northbound lane and the northbound ramp to I-20 eastbound are blocked.
Photos from the scene show a gravel truck on its side and rocks littering the roadway.
Police say the dump truck driver will be charged for running the light.
NewsChopper 2 was on the scene as crews began clean-up.
