ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to close all northbound and southbound lanes of I-285 in southwest Fulton County from Cascade Road to SR 166/Langford Parkway from 7 p.m. Sept. 25 until 5 a.m. Sept. 28.
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) said the full closure will affect northbound I-285 between Cascade Road, Exit 7 and SR 166/Langford Parkway, Exit 5. Southbound I-285 will close between SR 166/Langford Parkway, Exit 5 and Cascade Road, Exit 7.

The agency said the closure is part of the ongoing I-285 Westside Rebuild concrete slab reconstruction and rehabilitation project along the westside corridor from State Route 14/South Fulton Parkway in College Park to Collier Road.

According to GDOT, crews will mill and grind the roadway concrete so they can repair or replace concrete slabs in the project area.
GDOT said weather and onsite roadway conditions could postpone the weekend full closures.
The project costs $206 million and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
