HALL COUNTY, Ga. — There is a large police presence at a north Georgia hospital to investigate a bomb threat in the area on Tuesday.
Gainesville Police confirms officers are at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville on Spring Street. Dispatch received a bomb threat close to the hospital.
“We are conducting safety sweeps with personnel, dogs and other safety equipment,” Capt. Kevin Holbrook told Channel 2 Action News.

While hospital operations were initially not impacted, a spokesperson for Northeast Georgia Health System says they are now canceling appointments.
“All appointments at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Longstreet Clinic’s Gainesville location today are cancelled until further notice. If someone needs emergency care, they can dial 911 to access the emergency department,” a spokesperson said.
