The police department shared the story of a letter they recently received from a woman on the way to work who ended up with a flat tire.

The woman says she pulled over to wait for her husband to come change the tire when she was approached by Officer Santore, who was nearby.

“I just wanted a place to park until my husband got there. But she said, ‘No I’ll change it for you,” the woman said.

Santore promptly took the role of NASCAR crew member and quickly swapped out the tire.

The stranded motorist did not leave her name, but wanted to make sure Officer Santore and her department were aware of what she did and how she went about doing it.

“I can’t speak for all officers but most of them are wonderful,” she wrote. “She could’ve just let me wait for my husband but she went the extra mile all while wearing a smile. Officer Santore you’re awesome and you’re one of the good ones.”

A gesture like this goes a long way towards reminding residents that their local police departments can be there to help.
