GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed in a driveway Thursday in Lawrenceville.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot in front of a home on Shoal Court around 1 p.m. and taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
More than a dozen investigators had Shoal Court blocked off as they collected evidence.
NewsChopper 2 was over the scene, where it appeared police had taped off a home at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Police said the shooting doesn't have a connection to the home. Officials said the people who live there don't know the victim, and police believe the victim was trying to run away from the shooter and just ended up in front of the house.
Detectives said they are still looking for the shooter, who they believe left the scene.
