GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County fire officials said they responded just after 10 a.m. Tuesday to a house fire on Bradford Walk Trail in Buford.
Investigators said they found a body outside the house. Investigators said it’s possible the man who died in the fire also set it.
The medical examiner identified the victim as Darin Powers, 41. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, investigators said.

The fire burned the two homes next door.
“We were concerned it was spreading through the woods,” witness David Scott said.
The fire remains under investigation.
