Man accused of using stun gun on Walmart greeter arrested

Davis, accused of using a stun gun on a Walmart greeter, has been arrested.

Authorities in North Carolina said a man accused of shocking a Walmart greeter with a stun gun is in custody.

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, John Davis Jr. was arrested Tuesday. His alleged accomplice, Natasha Hall, is still on the run.

Surveillance pictures showed a man and a woman walking out of the store with a 50-inch TV when the 65-year-old greeter notices a security sticker on the box and asks for a receipt, officials said.

Deputies said Davis, 42, pulled out a stun gun, shocked the employee and then ran to the parking lot, where he and Hall, 38, drove off.

The employee was OK and did not need to go to the hospital.

Authorities have not said where Davis was arrested.

Deputies told Channel 2's sister station WSOC-TV that this isn't the first time that Davis has tried to commit this type of crime. In July 2015, authorities said he and a different woman walked out of a Lowe's carrying a cordless drill.

When they were confronted by a store employee, Davis pulled out a knife and threatened the employees, deputies said. Davis and his accomplice were arrested a short time later.
