A man driving an 18-wheeler made a split-second decision after a car suddenly pulled in front of him.

After noticing a baby onboard the car, he swerved to avoid hitting it and hit a tree moments before the truck burst into flames.
Kyrios Williams, the truck driver, was trapped in the burning truck, managing to escape just seconds before it exploded.
Nearby residents pulled Williams to safety before he was airlifted to the Burn Center at Grady Memorial Hospital. Williams suffered third-degree burns to nearly 30% of his body.
Williams has undergone his first surgery, with a long road to recovery ahead including more surgeries, skin grafts, specialized burn treatments and months of hospitalization.
Williams’s wife, Ulincia, has been with her husband during his treatments while their five children are being cared for by family members.
“Watching someone you love endure this much pain is incredibly difficult, but seeing his faith, resilience, and determination reminds us every day that God is carrying him through this journey,” a statement from the Williams family reads.
A fundraiser has been created on behalf of the family during this time as Williams is the primary provider for their household, which can be found here.
