COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. — An east Georgia community is mourning the loss of a 13-year-old boy killed in an e-bike accident.
Kenneth Faile-Hood was riding along the side of the road when he hit a tree limb, causing him to lose control and crash into the guardrail.
The 8th grader was pronounced dead at the scene.

Columbia County confirmed to WJBF that Faile-Hood was riding an electric dirt bike at the time of the crash.
Harlem Middle School Principal Valery Reed sent home a letter to parents informing them of Faile-Hood’s death.

“Death at any age can be difficult to understand especially when it is unexpected. We may feel a variety of emotions such as shock, sadness, confusion, or even anger. What is most important is that we care for and support each other,” Reed wrote in the letter.
Reed says the school will have counselors available for students and staff to talk to.
