ATLANTA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation has increased its reward to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Julious George Khalid in connection with an alleged kidnapping scheme during which suspects allegedly impersonated law enforcement officers.

Khalid is wanted on a federal kidnapping charge following an August incident near Atlanta.
According to the FBI, Khalid and others stopped a victim at gunpoint on Interstate 20 near Panola Road on Aug. 7. The suspects allegedly portrayed themselves as law enforcement personnel before releasing the victim after extorting a large amount of money.
A federal judge issued an arrest warrant for Khalid on Sept. 18, charging him with kidnapping. The FBI initially offered a reward of up to $10,000 before doubling the amount.

The FBI released photos and video of the vehicle allegedly used during the kidnapping. Representatives from the federal law enforcement agency announced the reward increase and requested assistance from the public in locating Khalid.
The agency also urged anyone who believes they may have been targeted by the driver of the vehicle to reach out to investigators.
