BANKS COUNTY, Ga. — Friday's storms caused a creek in Banks County to overflow, flooding a busy road and trapping 10 people inside cars and restaurants.

Floodwaters reached up to 4 feet after Crooked Creek overflowed in Commerce Friday morning.
"No, no, never this bad," Angi Seay said.

The water rose quickly, shutting down Highway 441 and flooding cars parked in the parking lot of a nearby strip mall. Video shows two people fishing off their Jeep as the water rushed by.
Neighbors told Channel 2's Dave Huddleston they have never had flooding like this before.

The powerful current split Peyton Road in half after storms moved through the city.
At last check, about 10 to 15 roads were flooded in the area.
After the floodwaters receded, Huddleston watched as Georgia Department of Transportation and county crews worked to clean the roads of debris.
Highway 441 has since reopened, but it could take several weeks to repair several washed-out roads.
