ATLANTA — Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kendal Daniels is recovering after he was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
Daniels went down for several minutes after he made a tackle on Bears tight end Colston Loveland in the third quarter. Medical staff rushed to his side and eventually moved and strapped Daniels to a stretcher.
His Falcon teammates and the Bears players all gathered around him.
“And I was just praying, just asking God, just please, please protect him, please cover him. Because that’s a scary moment, uh, not just for our team but for the other team too,” Falcons running back Bijan Robinson said postgame.

The Falcons said Daniels was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was showing “movement in all his extremities.”
He was later discharged from the hospital and returned to the team’s locker room at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. He was seen walking on his own with the training staff with him.
“I thought the medical staff did an outstanding job of getting him safely off the field. So all reports so far are good, and we’ll continue to pray that they remain good,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said in his postgame news conference.
