DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — An officer accidently shot a suspect during an arrest attempt, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.
The shooting happened Tuesday night near a Cracker Barrel on Concourse Parkway in Douglasville. This marked the 60th officer-involved shooting the GBI has responded to in 2019.

GBI officials said Douglasville officers were attempting to arrest someone when "a struggle ensued."
A spokesperson said a GSP trooper used a Taser during the struggle and a Douglasville police officer accidentally discharged his gun, shooting the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The GBI identified him as 28-year-old Pedtro Santillan.
Santillan is being held on meth trafficking charges at the Douglas County Detention Center.
