A DeKalb County grand jury indicted 49-year-old Quadrus Wilson of Marietta on Thursday in connection with the July incident.
The indictment charges Wilson with two counts of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree criminal damage to property, terroristic threats and criminal trespass. Wilson is currently held without bond at the DeKalb County Jail.
According to a preliminary investigation by the DeKalb County Police Department, officers responded shortly after 2:30 a.m. July 27 to a report of a shooting on Treecrest Parkway in unincorporated Decatur.
Officers spoke with a family member of Wilson who said he was visiting her apartment to celebrate his birthday. Wilson got into an argument with his relative’s boyfriend and left the residence.

He returned briefly a short time later, banging on the door while yelling, “police.” The family member barricaded the door to keep him outside.
An upstairs neighbor heard the commotion after about an hour of screaming and banging. Armed with a rifle, the neighbor opened his front door and called out to ask about the noise.
Wilson then went upstairs to confront the neighbor with his gun drawn, identified himself as a police officer and ordered the man to drop his firearm. The neighbor told investigators he retreated into his apartment and closed the door, though it remained cracked open slightly.
Wilson is accused of opening the front door, demanding the neighbor drop his gun and firing several shots into the apartment, striking the man in the right arm. Wilson remained at the scene where police arrested him after he stated he was an officer with the Department of Homeland Security.
The District Attorney’s Anti-Corruption Unit is prosecuting the case. The matter has been assigned to DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Josh Geller.
Wilson will soon be scheduled for an arraignment, after which a trial date may be set.
