BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — Police say a woman was seen throwing kittens out of a moving car Wednesday.
Witnesses told Brookhaven police that they were driving on Osborne Road near Peachtree Road when they saw someone in a silver Toyota Sienna tossing several kittens out of the car.
“Once the light turned green onto Peachtree, I turned right, followed this car and all of a sudden another kitten just comes flying out the window,” witness Maria Stewart told Channel 2’s Eryn Rogers. “Two seconds later another kitten comes flying.”

When police arrived, they found one kitten dead on the side of Osborne Road. Neighbors helped find the other two kittens.
Stewart and her friend, Terri Eden, who’s fostering the kittens currently, said one of the kittens has a broken tail.
Valentina Tobon Henao, 25, was identified as the driver and police found her at a nearby business.

Tobon Henao was arrested and booked into the DeKalb County Jail on one count of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor.
“Very awful act of humanity that I hope I never see again,” Stewart said.
Henao bonded out Friday.
“We’re going to hold out and hope that justice works,” Eden said.
Eden is looking for a permanent home for the kittens.
