TUCKER, Ga. — People from the community are stepping up to help out the family of an owner of a popular Chinese restaurant who died when a pressure cooker exploded earlier this week.
The force of the blast killed Mei Ying Chen, according to a GoFundMe account set up for her family.
Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne was at the scene Tuesday when the incident happened and spoke to customers of the restaurant.
“(It’s a) tight-knit family. Family-owned business. Been coming here for over 10 years. Really good people,” longtime customer Elijah Gallizia said. “They have really good food. I come here all the time to get sesame chicken.”

So far, the GoFundMe account has raised more than $10,000 toward the page’s goal.
All of the donations are going straight to the family and will be used to “help keep the family going until they can rebuild Main Moon,” the organizer of the account said.
“The families of the various family owned Main Moon Chinese Restaurants are hoping to have the funeral on May 24, 2021,” the page said.
