CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Fire crews rescued a man who fell about 20 to 25 feet into a ravine after a motorcycle crash.
Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services responded to 1000 Lake Regency Drive on Sunday after dispatchers received a call about a possible drowning in a pond.

Units got the call at 1:17 p.m. and the first crew arrived at 1:22 p.m.
Before firefighters arrived, law enforcement determined there was no drowning. Instead, they found a man about 20 to 25 feet down in a ravine or drainage ditch, which officials believe happened after a motorcycle crash.

Firefighters used two ladders to reach the man and create a safe way to bring him up. They also used a rope and backboard to secure and guide him during the rescue.
According to officials, crews faced steep terrain and elevation challenges as well as the man’s mental state from the crash.
Firefighters secured him and finished the rescue without further problems by sliding and guiding the backboard along the ladders.
After crews got him out, they moved him to a stretcher and treated him at the scene. Paramedics took him to Grady Memorial Hospital for more evaluation and care.
