DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Friends and loved ones are raising money to help the family of a 26-year-old man who police say was shot and killed after a crash on Interstate 285 in DeKalb County.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help cover funeral expenses for 26-year-old Tyler Sieber. On the fundraising page, loved ones describe the loss as unimaginable and ask for support as the family navigates the days ahead.
Officers were called to Interstate 285 near the Buford Hwy. exit for a crash.

Investigators said a vehicle struck Sieber’s car while he was driving on the interstate. Police said Sieber followed the other driver before rear-ending the vehicle.
According to investigators, both drivers got out of their vehicles. Police said the other driver then pulled out a gun, shot Sieber and drove away.
Nearly 24 hours later, the gunman remained on the run.
While traveling through metro Atlanta on their way home to Buffalo, New York, Ryan and Lindsey Goffena said they were stunned to learn about the deadly shooting after stopping near the area.
“That’s insane. There’s no reason a small fender bender should turn into something violent like that,” Ryan Goffena told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden.

His wife, Lindsey, said she hopes people remember that a moment of frustration behind the wheel is never worth escalating.
“I think just as humans, we don’t know what anyone else is going through. So if someone cuts you off, it might be like they’re just in their head with their thoughts... and we just have to have empathy,” she said.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact DeKalb County police or submit an anonymous tip through the DeKalb County Police Department app.
