COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — A driver is facing multiple charges after deputies say he led authorities on a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon.

Coweta County deputies said around 3:40 p.m. they tried to stop a vehicle for traffic violations on Weldon Road at Highway 29.
Deputies said the driver sped away, leading deputies on a chase north on Highway 29. During the chase, the vehicle reached speeds of about 100 mph and passed other vehicles using the grass shoulder and crossing double yellow lines, according to authorities.
The chase continued onto back roads in downtown Palmetto before the driver crashed into two civilian vehicles. The chase ended when the vehicle came to a stop in a parking lot.

Deputies said the driver, identified as James Moon, then ran from the scene but was captured after a short foot chase.
No injuries were reported to the occupants of the vehicles or to Moon, authorities said.
Moon was booked into the Coweta County jail on charges including felony fleeing, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, stop sign violation, driving on the wrong side of the road and failure to maintain lane.
The incident remains under investigation.
