Depending on years of sworn service as officers and educational degrees achieved, the highest police salary offered in Mableton is $81,500.
Officers who are hired will receive 14 holidays, a take home car and frontloaded paid time off upon hire, according to the city’s documents, though the pay scale is subject to ratification by the city council.
The current plan for the police department includes hiring 70 sworn officers and 10 civilian staff.
“That means Mableton is preparing for a full police operation, including patrol, investigations, supervision, records, evidence support, administration and daily department operations,” the city said in a statement on the hiring plan.
Mableton officials plan to have the department fully operational starting June 1, 2027.
