COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Voting in Cobb County looked a bit different Tuesday than it did Friday, on the last day of early voting. The lines Tuesday are smooth and quiet.

Channel 2’s Cobb County bureau chief Michele Newell reports no major problems.

Voters waited in long lines at Teasley Elementary School Tuesday morning due to a staffing problem that is resolved.

An 89-year-old man went to three polling locations before he could vote.

Other than that, it’s been smooth.

“I want this to be a smooth process,” Brian Edwards said.

Voting on Election Day was just how Edwards hoped it would be.

“The whole process took less than five or six minutes,” he said.

It was just as smooth for Marcus Williams who just recently moved to Georgia.

“I’m very excited, especially having my son with me who’s 2, and he’s like, ‘Let’s go vote,’” Williams said.

But longtime Smyrna resident, 89-year-old Leon Chadwick Sr., is trying to figure out where he can vote.

“I been living over here all my life so I always voted over there. I don’t know where I have to vote today,” he said.

His son Leon Chadwick Jr. drove him to the Smyrna Community Center but discovered it’s no longer a polling location.

“We came to the regular location that we always vote at my mom and dad always vote at, and the gates blocked off. We were redirected over here,” Leon Chadwick Jr. said.

Leon Chadwick Jr. says his dad was redirected to Smyrna First Baptist Church, only to realize this isn’t his assigned polling location.

“My father just lives a mile a way and he’s always voted in this section but there saying this is not our section anymore,” Leon Chadwick Jr. said.

A poll worker helped Leon Chadwick Sr. find his correct polling location.
