Mom hospitalized, daughter wounded after stabbing outside metro Atlanta Chick-fil-A

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after an incident between a mom and daughter led to a reported stabbing on Thursday afternoon.

Officials say a woman was stabbed outside the Chick-fil-A on Hwy. 92 off I-75, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

Channel 2’s Michele Newell learned that both women were injured and the mother ran inside the Chick-fil-A while the daughter got into her car with her two 3-year-old children and sped off.

Acworth police were inside the restaurant at the time and were able to help until an ambulance arrived to take her to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Authorities say her injuries are severe, but she is expected to survive.

The daughter’s car was tracked to Whitfield County where she was pulled over. Neither of the children were hurt.

Leaders at the Chick-fil-A location say the restaurant is temporarily closed. They hope to reopen the store on Friday.

Authorities are not identifying the people involved as this is an ongoing investigation.
