ATLANTA — A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death of a 13-year-old boy who was found shot to death inside an Atlanta home last month.

Davion Curney was arrested on Aug. 13 for his alleged involvement in the deadly shooting.
The arrest stems from a July 28 incident at a home on Lindsey Street NW.
Officers were called to the home around 3:46 a.m. after receiving reports of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

The boy’s uncle told Channel 2’s Tom Jones his sudden death is hitting the family very hard.
“For a young kid like that to die, at a young age like that...” Thomas Wyche couldn’t finish his sentence, thinking about how he would never see his 13-year-old nephew alive again.
He is having a hard time understanding how his nephew went to stay overnight with a friend, and now he is dead.
Wyche says his nephew was a good kid who loved playing his games.
“He didn’t play with guns or nothing like that. So until the medical examiner says something, they try to say like it’s a suicide. But I don’t believe that. We don’t believe that,” Wyche said.

Investigators now say Curney was involved in the shooting and have charged him with involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct, tampering with evidence and making false statements.
Curney was booked into the Fulton County Jail.
Police say their investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
