ATLANTA — Parents of children living in a southwest Atlanta apartment complex are worried about their safety after two deadly shootings on the property in two days.

Around 3.30 a.m. Tuesday, Atlanta police went to the complex on Cushman Circle on a report of a man shot.
Inside an apartment building, they discovered an unidentified 21-year-old man shot dead.
In the same complex Sunday afternoon, police responded to another shooting. Police say 25-year-old Elijah Brookshire was shot on the property.
Someone tried to rush him to Grady Hospital. The driver pulled over on Langford Drive after noticing the shooting victim wasn’t breathing. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Neighbors say two deadly shootings in two days is alarming.
“I just had someone call me and ask if I was OK. They say some people got killed out here,” said neighbor Serenity Gripper.
Gripper says shootings on the property are becoming more common and dangerous.
“They need to put some security out here, police enforcement. I would love to see private security and an actual gated community,” said Gripper.
Another unidentified neighbor in the complex says she worries about the safety of her children and others.
“It’s ridiculous. Children can’t come outside and play. I worry about my family and other children who stay out here,” said the neighbor
Atlanta police say both shootings are under investigation, and they don’t know if they are related.
