MARTA to update more than 30 routes, schedules; 5 already changed

ATLANTA — Effective Saturday, MARTA has multiple routes that are changing.

Five routes saw what the transit agency called “slight routing changes,” but said more than 30 others will also have their schedules adjusted to better reflect travel on their routes.

MARTA said some changes will be different based on what day of the week, and where you’re coming or going.

While more than 30 routes changing sounds like a lot, MARTA said in a statement that it usually changes routes about three times every year.

MARTA said the changes to bus service routes could also impact MARTA Mobility’s availability.

“Because Mobility operates within a defined distance of bus routes and rail stations, adjustments to fixed-route service can result in corresponding updates to paratransit service,” MARTA said in a statement. “We encourage Mobility riders to review current service information and plan ahead as needed.”

Routing adjustments

1 Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard / 17th Street: This route will be realigned to Brady Avenue upon completion of intersection improvements.
5 Piedmont Road / Sandy Springs: Southbound trips will be realigned due to the completion of intersection improvements at Mount Vernon Highway and Johnson Ferry Road.
20 South DeKalb / Downtown AtlantaEastbound trips to the South DeKalb Transfer Point will be extended to Columbia Drive. All westbound trips will depart from the South DeKalb Transfer Point on the same side of the street. The route will no longer serve South Rainbow Drive. On weekdays, all trips during the AM and PM peak period will continue to/from New Snapfinger Woods Drive.
114 Columbia Drive / Snapfinger Woods Drive: Due to operational issues, westbound trips will turn left onto Huber Street instead of Chupp Road. The route will be realigned to a different bus stop at Panola Park and Ride.
117 Stone Mountain / Panola Road: This route will be realigned to a different bus stop at Panola Park and Ride and will dwell longer at the Panola Park and Ride instead of the end of line. Timetable
MARTA Reach – Vans will be reallocated between zones to better meet travel requests. Hours of service will not change.

Bus schedule adjustments

1 Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard / 17th Street: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. Saturday and Sunday schedules will be slightly different from each other. On Weekdays, Northbound service will end 8 minutes later. Southbound service will end 4 minutes later. On Saturdays, Northbound and Southbound service will end 4 minutes earlier.
7 Boulevard / McDonough Boulevard: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. On weekdays, the last northbound trip will end 8 minutes earlier and the last southbound trip will end 6 minutes earlier.
15 Clifton Road / Candler Road: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route and minimize dwell time in Decatur. On Weekdays, Northbound service will end 2 minutes earlier. Southbound service will start and end 1 minute later. On Weekends, Northbound service will end 3 minutes earlier and Southbound service will end 8 minutes earlier.
20 South DeKalb / Downtown Atlanta: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. On Weekdays, Westbound service will start 5 minutes earlier and end 15 minutes later. On Weekends, Eastbound service will end 3 minutes earlier.
23 Peachtree Road / Buckhead:Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. Saturday and Sunday schedules will be slightly different from each other. On Weekdays, Northbound service will start 10 minutes earlier and end 14 minutes earlier. On weekdays and Saturdays, Southbound service will start and end 5 minutes later.
26 James Jackson Parkway / Perry Boulevard: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. On Weekdays, Westbound service will start and end 10 minutes earlier. On Weekends, Westbound service will start 10 minutes later and end 13 minutes later.
46 I-85 Access Road / Briarwood: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. Saturday and Sunday schedules will be slightly different from each other. On Weekdays, Eastbound service will end 10 minutes earlier. Westbound service will end 5 minutes earlier. On Saturdays, Eastbound service will start and end 3 minutes later. Westbound service will start and end 4 minutes later.
66 Brownlee Road / Harbin Road: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. The route will operate every 45 minutes instead of every 40. On Weekdays, Northbound service will start 2 minutes earlier and end 5 minutes later. Southbound service will end 11 minutes later. On Weekends, Northbound service will start 1 minute earlier and end 2 minutes later. Southbound / Westbound service will end 55 minutes later
67 Peyton Place: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. The route will operate every 45 minutes instead of every 40. Service will end 50 minutes later on weekdays and 45 minutes later on weekends
75 Lawrenceville Highway: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. On Weekdays, Eastbound service will start 6 minutes earlier and Westbound service will end 7 minutes earlier. On Weekends, Eastbound service will start 2 minutes earlier and end 2 minutes later. 83 Campbellton Road: PM peak frequency will increase from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes
182 South Fulton Parkway: One northbound trip will be added on weeknights departing at midnight and arriving to College Park Station at 12:45 AM
191 Riverdale / ATL Intl Terminal: Schedules will be adjusted to better reflect travel times along the route. On Weekdays, Northbound service will end 7 minutes earlier. Southbound service ends 2 minutes earlier. On Saturdays, Northbound and Southbound service will end 5 minutes earlier
