ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating after at least one person was shot on Thursday evening.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on Joseph E. Boone Blvd. near Chappell Rd. around 9:30 p.m.
Investigators say the 39-year-old man was shot several times near a convenience store down the block.

Police say he was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was alert, conscious and breathing. There is no word on the severity of his injuries.

Police have not commented on what led up to the shooting or possible suspects.
