ATLANTA — Surveillance video shown in court Friday captured the officer accused of assaulting a 15-year-old girl walking through hospital hallways while she was getting a rape kit, according to testimony from a former hospital security guard."
“I was just informed not to let the officer go in back,” Blackman said about Officer Richard Gooddine.

Blackman testified that when Gooddine came into the emergency waiting room to use the restroom in August 2018, he did not know what the officer was accused of.
Blackman said a nurse who had just taken a report from a 15-year-old girl accusing Gooddine of raping her told him Gooddine had to leave.
He said a supervisor told him the same thing.
“I was trying to explain to the officer why he had to leave her ER,” Blackman said.

When asked about Gooddine’s response, Blackman answered, “Confusion.”
Surveillance video shown in court captured Gooddine wiping his hands while hospital staff told him to leave.
Investigators say that matters because they believe Gooddine was trying to wipe off the alleged teen victim’s DNA that was later found on the turn signal in his patrol car.

The defense said Gooddine was wiping his hands after using the restroom.
Blackman also told the jury he heard Gooddine say, “Are those the people?” before he left the ER, while pointing at people at the nurse’s station in the trauma area.
The trial will continue on Monday.
