King George County, Va. — Two Georgia men were killed when the boat they were in flipped over during an event near Fairview Beach in King George County, Virginia.
The accident happened during the Potomac River Radar Run boating event Saturday.
The Maryland Natural Resources Police identified the victims as James A. Melley, 49, of Buford, Georgia, and Garth Thomas Tagge, 61, of Atlanta, Georgia.

ABC affiliate WJLA says the two men were well-known in the performance boating industry for topping speeds more than 190 MPH. They participated in competitions across the country.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
