Hundreds frustrated by abruptly canceled event

As the sun set over Grant Park in Atlanta Saturday night, the Sunset Wind Down event that hundreds paid $100 to attend never happened.

"There's nothing here that indicates that we were going to be entertained, or get food, or drinks, what we paid for," attendee Johanna Hillman said.

About 150 couples bought tickets for the night of live music and food advertised online.

Channel 2's Matt Johnson found cars lining up and people standing around wondering what's being done with the money from their $100 tickets.

"It's more of a confusion than anger, because you're not understanding why things aren't set up," attendee Jonathan Wayman said.

The event was organized by Nik the Chic Chef. A cancelation notice was posted on Facebook around the time start time of the event.

Nik the Chic Chef says she and her husband were in a car accident Saturday morning in Gwinnett County and had to cancel.

Nik the Chic Chef initially agreed to a phone interview with Channel 2 Action News, but never spoke with our reporter.

Reggie Matthew says he wants a full refund after driving an hour and a half from Columbus for the event.

"I never did nothing like this, and I was looking forward to it," Matthew said.

The organizer says she plans to offer refunds to everyone who wants one and reschedule the concert.
