Armed and dangerous suspect on the run after shooting

MONROE, Ga. — Police are searching for a man they say opened fire on someone outside a gas station.

Monroe police were called to the Chestnut Cupboard on East Church St. just after 12:30 a.m. on Friday.

Officers found a 36-year-old man who had been shot several times and suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital. There is no word on his current condition.

Investigators identified the suspected shooter as Charvis Grant.

They have gotten warrants to charge Grant with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, but have not yet captured him.

Grant should be considered “armed and dangerous,” police say.
