ATLANTA — A new poll released Wednesday shows Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff with an edge over Republican challenger Rep. Mike Collins.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and University of Georgia poll found that 48% of likely Georgia voters support Ossoff and 40% support Collins.
Ossoff’s lead is outside the survey’s 3.1% margin of error compared to the Georgia governor poll that has Keisha Lance Bottoms and Rick Jackson in a dead heat. But both the Ossoff and Collins campaigns have work to do over the final weeks with 12% of voters in the poll saying they are “undecided.”
Other takeaways from the poll among those likely voters include:
- Each candidate had 43% of male voters
- Ossoff led among women voters, young voters and Black voters
- Collins led among voters 65 and older and White voters
- 77% of self-described conservatives support Collins
- 90% of liberals, 62% of moderates support Ossoff

HOW WAS THE POLL CONDUCTED?
The University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs conducted the poll via telephone with 1,000 likely voters from Oct. 7 through Oct. 15.
The likely voters previously voted in the 2022 general election, 2024 general election, 2026 primary election or a combined of those elections. They also indicated they are registered to vote in Georgia and are “definitely or probably” going to vote in the 2026 general election.
The poll margin of error is 3.1 percentage points.
