CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A 20-year-old man is facing several charges in connection to a crash that killed a teenager over the summer.
Cherokee County deputies said Benjamin James Land, of Acworth, was arrested and charged Tuesday in a crash that happened on Aug. 22.
Deputies said Land was driving drunk on Interstate 75 near the Priest Road overpass when he lost control of his car, striking a guardrail, leaving the roadway and hitting a tree.

The passenger in his car, 19-year-old Savanna Joyce Martin, of Cartersville, was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
Land is currently in at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center being held without bond. He is facing first degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.
