ATHENS, Ga. — A Georgia 9-year-old has died days after he was hit by a pickup truck in Athens on Saturday.
Athens-Clarke County Police identified the victim as Maxton Ball from Ellenwood.

Police responded to a crash that happened the intersection of Lexington Road and Whit Davis Road just after 9 p.m. Investigators said Ball was walking into the roadway when a driver in a 2018 Dodge Ram hit him.
Ball was walking from the old Hardee’s parking lot, which police say is now outside perimeter for the Walmart shopping center. The 9-year-old was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries. Police learned that he died on Tuesday.
